Since Paul died I have found out so much about him that I never knew (so much that says what a remarkable young man he was) and I am full of admiration and respect for him - but what I did know and what I deeply appreciated was how much sunshine he brought into Mum and Dad's life over so many years. I can see that in the family photos when he was little, I could see it in their faces and hear it in their voices when they spoke of him - the delight when his car pulled up outside their house or he arrived on his bike with Mum saying "Paul's here" with such pleasure and anticipation. He kept Dad young and interested in life by talking about the latest phone and telling him interesting facts, for Paul was full of knowledge on all kinds of subjects that you'd never have suspected he knew about. Paul was also "Mr Practical" and "Mr Technology" for this very un practical family but we can get by and learn some of those skills - what can never be replaced is the time, the caring and the loving he gave so willingly - a rare and truly precious quality.
